Astronomy is perhaps one of the first science subjects that human beings could explore. From the dim millennia of prehistory there is evidence that observing the sky was a pastime for people and that over a long span of time they formed a particular pattern for appearance of celestial objects in sky. From understanding seasons
to exploring vast expanse of universe, sky observation has been integral part of human ingenuity. Unfortunately, with an ever increasing light pollution in cities there is hardly any scope for sky observation. It is for this reason that the Taramdandal facility has been created in the Centre to provides an opportunity to the visitors to explore the night sky and understand the celestial world of stars and planets and other astronomical objects that surround us.
